Wine, wine, and more wine....

Got your attention didn't I? I am on a wine kick recently.  I discovered some new yummy wine that I am hooked on.  Normally I am a sweet wine drinker, mostly German white ones.  So, I've been on a hunt for red wines that I can actually swallow.  Most just haven't been to my liking.  I found that I really like the "muscadine" wines.  Now, I realized these are hard to find so I've had to order them online from the winery themselves.  I did that and had a few sent to the house to try different ones and I'm hooked.

On our trip to Savannah Georgia I happened on a wine store downtown.  I went in a low and behold the wines I love were right in front of me!  I was EXTREMELY excited.  I think I drove the girls nuts talking about going to the winery and wine store.  There was a really sweet man there that was telling me about all the wines. I tried a bunch and even found some Peach Wine that was SOOOOO yummy. I decided I needed a picture of the bottles because I know I've never had that many bottles of alcohol in my house at one time!  I had to preserve this moment in time!

I decided to use the photo in a layout for Challenge Masters.  This was for a "Scraplift" challenge. When I started this I really wasn't thrilled with it but I came to love it by the time I was done.  I think it may be because of the little sticker phrases by the title!  Click on the layout to read them....they make me laugh!

Bye 2010!

Where has it gone? I can't believe the year is already over! It seems the older you get the fast the time flies and I don't like it one bit :( It seems like just yesterday I was changing diapers and now I have college students for kids (well, 2 of the 4).

Every year I take a picture of them all together.  Here's a layout of one of the shots.  This weeks challenge over at Scrap Tiffany is 2010, year in review.  I couldn't think of a way to include that but this is the way I sum up the year. I'm posting this early since my reveal is on Friday I wanted you to have a bit of time to send in your creations if you have one or would like to play along.  Just pop them in an email to Tiffany.

Crate paper: paper, chipboard, brads, American Craft Thickers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Glue Dots®

“I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots® design team.”

I used my favorite line,Crate Paper and I tried something new (to me anyway). Recently I love to use paint and mist  but I wanted to do a splatter effect without a heavy look.  So, I took the glimmer mist and opened it up and stuck in my paint brush and splattered away.  I really like how it turned outJust what I was going for :)

NEW!!!

It's that time again....a new linky party over at Paper Issues!

The New Challenge is a NEW Challenge!

Girl Power

FYI...This was suppose to auto post on Friday! Sorry, blogger goofed.

Do you have any photo's that show Girls Power?  If you do, you may want to play with us this week at Scrap Tiffany.  The challenge to you is "Girls Power" any way, any how.

Having 3 girls, we have lots of Girl Power around here in one form or another.
Here's my take.  One of my daughters doing her "Thing" (Barrel Racing).

I used misting and doodling on here to add to the crazyiness of all the papers.
I'm just a sucker for using as many PP's as I can! As you can see I took the picture on a windy day, the little pom poms are blowing in the breeze!

My Second Wreath

Well, I can't believe I've actually made two wreaths this year!  This is my second one.  It's made from fabric!  Oh my, yes, I actually did something that wasn't paper!  I kind of feel like I'm being a "traitor" to all my scrappy goodies!

This was a really super easy wreath to do.  It's called a rag wreath.  I actually wanted to make another one but I think I'll be waiting to do it next year since the season is coming and going so fast.

You need one floral wire wreath base and some fabric and your two hands or your kids (if you can talk them into helping you). I cut the strips of fabric 1/2" X 6". I can't tell you how many I used but it was a ton. Next, just start tying them onto the base. I double knotted them.

You can do this anywhere.  I took my bag with me everywhere to work on here and there.  I took it in the car and worked while waiting to pick up kids.  I took it in my golf cart while I sat and watched my son train on his dirtbike. I know, that sound strange.  It was quite a site me sitting there working on a wreath in the midst of gas fumes and dirt flying.

I added the "Merry Christmas" when I was finished.  It was just a cheap ornament I found at Wal-Mart that I was able to tie onto it.  The green bow was added to the top.

Please share if you make one!

I'm back! :)

Wow, it feels like I haven't posted in FOREVER!  There has been a lot going on here.  We just got home from a great trip to Savannah, GA.  It was FREEZING but we had a great time. We ate way too much because we had to get to all the great famous places to eat. Now, I'm feeling a little rounder than I was, ugh.

So, I hope you all have had some time to be crafty.  I haven't really had time to catch up on the blogs but I will gradually make my rounds, hopefully.  We're off soon on another trip because my oldest daughter is moving out of state.  Good for her, sad for mom :(

On to my reason for popping in today.  I have a Go Green challenge for you over at Challenge Masters. Maybe you would like to come play?  You have until the end of the month to be entered in to win our monthly prize. The challenge is to make an ornament from paper.  Here are a few that I made.  These were pretty simple.  If you want to know the how to, let me know and I'll share.

Crate Paper Crazy!

Wow, I've been in a holiday creating mood!  I went a little Crate Paper crazy this weekend!  Here's a few project to share with you.  The first is a recycled Prima Flower box (gotta love those)!  It is now a cookie/candy box to share when I get around to baking.  I lined the box with some pattern paper as well as covered the outside sides.  I added some chipboard pieces, ribbon and glitter.  That's it!

Next is a Christmas Tree! I bought a foam floral cone for this.  I put a layer of guesso on it before I started because that green foam tends to rub off all over.  I used Glue Dots® to adhere the strips of paper onto the cone.  The strips were cut 1/2" X 3" then the ends were curled and placed on in layers working from the bottom up.  I added a scallop circle to the top and the chipboard piece.  I sprayed it with adhesive spray then shook on some Mica Flakes from Martha Stewart.  It really looks so much cuter in person :) P.S. Ignore our dead grass!  Not enough rain here :( You'd never guess it's Florida!

Here is a close up of the tree. You can see the mica flakes.

I have issues.....

Paper Issues, that is!!!  I made the design team for this fabulous blog!  Don't you just love the name?  I did the "Why didn't I think of that!" when I happened accross this blog.  You should really go check out the awessome designers on here, you'll be inspired.

While you are at it, come participate in our "Save Thanksgiving" post. Have you made something recently you'd like to share for thanksgiving?  Go HERE and link up with us! It's easy! No need to make anything new unless you want to, you can just post what you already have posted.

Hope to see you there!!!!

I Really Need......

More hours in the day! It seems I've had a ton of stuff to do recently and can't seem to get it all done.  I guess I could get up with the crack of dawn to make a few extra hours but that doesn't work with me, by 7:00 I'd be whipped and then no good for anything!

I did manage last week to get to a local crop at our new local scrapbook store "A Scrapbook Store & More". It's a cute new store in the Treasure Coast of Florida.  While I was there I was able to complete a few DT assignments and got started on a cute banner kit I got at the Scrapbook Expo in West Palm Beach. Hopefully I'll get that done before the end of the year, you think? hmm...

Well, on to one of the cards I made during the crop.  This weeks challenge over at Scrap Tiffany if to use Crepe Paper.  Here's my creation.

I'm going to add a little tag or banner coming out from the button part once I need to send this card.
That's how I will personalize it more.

Hop on over to Scrap Tiffany to see what the other desinger came up with!

Holiday Blog Hop Today!

Hello Everone!  Welcome to Scrap Tiffany's Holiday Blog Hop.  We're so glad you could come join us for some Holiday inspiration!
If you happened here on your own and would like to participate in the Blog Hop,
please start at Scrap Tiffany.

For today's hop I decided to make a Christmas Wreath.  I found many examples of this online and thought I would give it a try.  It was very simple to make.

Here's some directions for you.  First I started off with a 1 1/2" scallop punch.  You can adjust this based on the size of the wreath.  This was a small foam base only about 7". I also bought a thesaurus at the $1 store.  You may use a whole book depending on the size of the wreath.

After I punched out some I inked them with distressing ink (Tim Holtz- Red Barn and Shabby Shutters).  Only do a portion of these at a time.  You will need a ton of them but the inking is tedious and I know with me I get bored doing the same thing over and over so I took breaks and switched what I was doing.  You can also mist them if you like but I was going for more color and the ink seemed to work best for that.

Use a pencil to scrunch around the bottom and then hot glue each piece to the wreath base.

I hope you all enjoy the wreath.  I'd love to know if you make one yourself!

I will be giving away a little Christmas RAK to one of you all.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post!

Now, it's time for you to head over to the fabulous Jennifer

Do you ever wonder when you are creating from a sketch how you finally ended up with such a different style?  This is how I felt today :)  Here's this weeks sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.

This is what I came up with in the end.  I'm not sure if I'm going to make an album this size or make this a wall hanging or frame it.  Any suggestions?  This is a picture of my cute niece and nephew.
