Have you heard?

Of the The Flying Unicorn?  If you haven't you sure will be hearing alot about them from me :)  Why is that? Well, I'm officially one of their new Creative Team Members!

A little about The Flying Unicorn:  It's an on-line scrapbook store that has wonderful products and a Kit of the Month. There is also a monthly e-zine called Enchanting Creations Magazine with lots of ideas and inspiration. You can get a chance to be published in there if you are interested. There is a fun forum you can join that has tons of Challenges and prizes each month and a BLOG too that you can follow to find out what's going on with us.

I hope you all stop by the group and meet these fabulous crafters!  You can visit their individual blogs through my side bar too :)

Grid/Rainbow Challenge at TPV

This weeks challenge at The Paper Variety is up.  How about trying out a grid or rainbow pattern on your creation this week and entering it in ourThe  challenge.

The sponsor this week is Paisleys and Polka Dots.  Look at the fabulous prize.  I actually won one of their kits in the past and they are FABULOUS, you will want to try for this.  Check out their site too!

Here's my layout for the week. I chose to do a grid pattern.
Of course I needed to use my Crate Paper!

I wanted to add the twine here and I had to use those cute, cute buttons :)
To adhere the twine I used little itty bitty drops of glue.  I was going to stitch the twine down but after I got it layed out like I wanted it, I was afraid to lift it up to stitch it down.

Hope you can play along with us!

Doodily, doodily, doodily, do!

I've found a new way to spend my time... DOODLING! I'm loving it! It's a great way to kill some time or spend some time relaxing!  I'm finding myself taking my book and pen when I go out places I know I need to spend time waiting.

Here's one of my doodles before coloring.....

And here it is after I used watercolor pencils and some water :)
I colored first then went back over with a water pen then added some shading.

For this I used some basic watercolor pencils by Artist's Loft, not too pricey (you can find them at Michaels).  I recently purchased Faber Castell Aquarelle's and those are SOOOO wonderful.  The colors are brilliant and when you add the water they are soo smooth. They don't leave the pencil shading marks like you see here.  I will be using those from now on.
