Crate Paper Crazy!

Wow, I've been in a holiday creating mood!  I went a little Crate Paper crazy this weekend!  Here's a few project to share with you.  The first is a recycled Prima Flower box (gotta love those)!  It is now a cookie/candy box to share when I get around to baking.  I lined the box with some pattern paper as well as covered the outside sides.  I added some chipboard pieces, ribbon and glitter.  That's it!

Next is a Christmas Tree! I bought a foam floral cone for this.  I put a layer of guesso on it before I started because that green foam tends to rub off all over.  I used Glue Dots® to adhere the strips of paper onto the cone.  The strips were cut 1/2" X 3" then the ends were curled and placed on in layers working from the bottom up.  I added a scallop circle to the top and the chipboard piece.  I sprayed it with adhesive spray then shook on some Mica Flakes from Martha Stewart.  It really looks so much cuter in person :) P.S. Ignore our dead grass!  Not enough rain here :( You'd never guess it's Florida!

Here is a close up of the tree. You can see the mica flakes.

I have issues.....

Paper Issues, that is!!!  I made the design team for this fabulous blog!  Don't you just love the name?  I did the "Why didn't I think of that!" when I happened accross this blog.  You should really go check out the awessome designers on here, you'll be inspired.

While you are at it, come participate in our "Save Thanksgiving" post. Have you made something recently you'd like to share for thanksgiving?  Go HERE and link up with us! It's easy! No need to make anything new unless you want to, you can just post what you already have posted.

Hope to see you there!!!!

I Really Need......

More hours in the day! It seems I've had a ton of stuff to do recently and can't seem to get it all done.  I guess I could get up with the crack of dawn to make a few extra hours but that doesn't work with me, by 7:00 I'd be whipped and then no good for anything!

I did manage last week to get to a local crop at our new local scrapbook store "A Scrapbook Store & More". It's a cute new store in the Treasure Coast of Florida.  While I was there I was able to complete a few DT assignments and got started on a cute banner kit I got at the Scrapbook Expo in West Palm Beach. Hopefully I'll get that done before the end of the year, you think? hmm...

Well, on to one of the cards I made during the crop.  This weeks challenge over at Scrap Tiffany if to use Crepe Paper.  Here's my creation.

I'm going to add a little tag or banner coming out from the button part once I need to send this card.
That's how I will personalize it more.

Hop on over to Scrap Tiffany to see what the other desinger came up with!

Holiday Blog Hop Today!

Hello Everone!  Welcome to Scrap Tiffany's Holiday Blog Hop.  We're so glad you could come join us for some Holiday inspiration!
If you happened here on your own and would like to participate in the Blog Hop,
please start at Scrap Tiffany.

For today's hop I decided to make a Christmas Wreath.  I found many examples of this online and thought I would give it a try.  It was very simple to make.

Here's some directions for you.  First I started off with a 1 1/2" scallop punch.  You can adjust this based on the size of the wreath.  This was a small foam base only about 7". I also bought a thesaurus at the $1 store.  You may use a whole book depending on the size of the wreath.

After I punched out some I inked them with distressing ink (Tim Holtz- Red Barn and Shabby Shutters).  Only do a portion of these at a time.  You will need a ton of them but the inking is tedious and I know with me I get bored doing the same thing over and over so I took breaks and switched what I was doing.  You can also mist them if you like but I was going for more color and the ink seemed to work best for that.

Use a pencil to scrunch around the bottom and then hot glue each piece to the wreath base.

I hope you all enjoy the wreath.  I'd love to know if you make one yourself!

I will be giving away a little Christmas RAK to one of you all.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post!

Now, it's time for you to head over to the fabulous Jennifer

How did I get from that to this.....

Do you ever wonder when you are creating from a sketch how you finally ended up with such a different style?  This is how I felt today :)  Here's this weeks sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.

This is what I came up with in the end.  I'm not sure if I'm going to make an album this size or make this a wall hanging or frame it.  Any suggestions?  This is a picture of my cute niece and nephew.
