3 little birds

A little weekend journal painting using some Lumiere paint.  I love the shimmer on this paint. The silver color and reds are the Lumiere paints and all the others are basic acrylics. I wish you could see it in person.  With the shimmer it was difficult to photograph.

Weekend Art

Just popping in to share with you some of my weekend art.  The first is a journal page in  my 5x8 Moleskine journal.  This one is using just some papers, paint and Gelatos.

This next one is a 9x12 which has quite a lot of color!  This one uses molding paste, spray inks, Inka Golds, White Distress Stain.

What is not art?

I've been playing around with a new purchase I made.  I couldn't resist getting some Dylusions Ink Sprays from Ranger. They are some vibrant colors!  I can't wait to add more color to my collection.

Here's a jounal page that I created using the sprays.  I did some layering with some stencils and then doodled over them with a white-out pen.  The black spray is just fabulous, I love the depth it adds to it.

I love Bambi!

I was going through Pinterest one day and found this quote from the movie Bambi and I knew I wanted to use it on a journal page.  Knowing it wasn't going to have the right effect if I didn't use Bambi, I had to figure out a way to add it without it looking like a cartoon journal page.

I went ahead and did an image transfer using Gel Medium so I would have a Bambi there but not so dominant that it jumps of the page.  I wanted him to just blend in to the background so I thought that the image transfer would give the look I wanted.  For the tree trunk, I used Molding Paste and the music pages I sprayed with various green glimmer mists and color washes.

Don't have a name yet....

Anyone want to help me give her a name?
She needs a little something more to her and a name would help.
Any ideas?  She's so different with that dark hair, I'm thinking something exotic like....

Somewhere between...

Realistic and Cartoon...that's what I'm working on.  Trying to get my girls to look this way. Not too life like, just enough emphasis on those eyes to make them stand out more than anything.  So far, she's my favorite, I'll call her Angel.

Supplies used: watercolor paper, fluid acrylics, papers, stamps, doily, stazon ink
