Blue Sky Day

I wanted to share this post with you from

 Kite Tails Designs

Come take a look at this fabulous line:

Psss....my layout is at the bottom :)

Spotlight On: Blue Sky Day “Sunshine”

The Sunshine paper from our Blue Sky Day collection has become a fan, and design team favorite!  This colorful ledger paper with a crisp white background is perfect as a background paper.  It’s especially great for misting on, as shown by some of our lovely Kite Flyers:
Shawna misted the paper with a subtle yellow mist before layering her papers and photo on top.  She also fussy cut some clouds and mounted them with pop-dots for added dimension:
You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine by Shawna Webster
Annelie also went the 1-photo route, with a pale blue mist on the background, and both our Blue Sky Day Kite Characters chipboard alpha, as well as our Blue Sky Day Kite Cachet mini alpha stickers to create her title:
Orewa Beach by Annelie Maddock
Kite Flyer Jackie went bolder with her misting, using several different colors to create a splatter-paint effect.  She both the grosgrain ribbon as well as the twine from our Blue Sky Day Kite Cords in her layout:

Until tomorrow then!

I love Bambi!

I was going through Pinterest one day and found this quote from the movie Bambi and I knew I wanted to use it on a journal page.  Knowing it wasn't going to have the right effect if I didn't use Bambi, I had to figure out a way to add it without it looking like a cartoon journal page.

I went ahead and did an image transfer using Gel Medium so I would have a Bambi there but not so dominant that it jumps of the page.  I wanted him to just blend in to the background so I thought that the image transfer would give the look I wanted.  For the tree trunk, I used Molding Paste and the music pages I sprayed with various green glimmer mists and color washes.

Making a mess...

I've been playing around with my Index cards this past week for ICAD Challenge. I haven't really sat down to create them with the thought of making anything "pretty" or "artistic".  Just using them like little scraps of paper to test out some things.

This first card had some base color paint and then I stenciled over it with another paint then tried wiping some off and bleck :P didn't like the way it worked out but hey, live and learn.
Turned it into this:

This one is a stamp and I added Glimmer Glam over it.  I was dying to try see what this color was so that was my experiment on this.

Here I was trying out different colors of oil pastels to get an idea what they looked like.  I had some I hadn't used yet and didn't know what they looked like.

Here we go with some doodling.  Just killing some time waiting on dinner to cook!

This one is my favorite, it's just liquid india ink and stencil.  I didn't want to add anything else because I think this is going to be used another time for something :)

Here's my bleeding heart!  Just some dribbled ink and oil pastel.  Plain and simple.

Card Crazy....

So, I'm not much of a card maker.  I always look at everyone's lovely copic cards and just oooh and ahhh over them.  I've done a few but have never really gotten into them.  Maybe one day...

Until then, this is how my cards go...

Catching up...

Just catching up on a few layouts.  Trying to use up some old stash.

This one is very simple,  I really wanted it to concentrate on the quote. I loved it.

"We celebrate the first date, the first kiss, the first holiday together - but what really counts is what happened before the public story:  that moment more of pulse than of thought which goes...'yes perhaps her and yes perhaps him'- Julian Barne"

Don't have a name yet....

Anyone want to help me give her a name?
She needs a little something more to her and a name would help.
Any ideas?  She's so different with that dark hair, I'm thinking something exotic like....

I got a facelift!

You will have to click on the title to see what I'm talking about, just incase you're a title reader only :)

Doesn't it look great?

I love all the new social icon buttons :)  Make sure to follow.  I love people who have those buttons, it's so much easier for me to read everyones blog posts from one main page like FB or Twitter ;) Then I don't have to go to blogger itself.

Somewhere between...

Realistic and Cartoon...that's what I'm working on.  Trying to get my girls to look this way. Not too life like, just enough emphasis on those eyes to make them stand out more than anything.  So far, she's my favorite, I'll call her Angel.

Supplies used: watercolor paper, fluid acrylics, papers, stamps, doily, stazon ink

Thanks for stopping in today :)
